Mass shooting near the Magnificent Mile followed reports of teens fighting, another shooting nearby – CWB Chicago

Early indications of a problem came around 9:45 p.m. when 911 callers reported a group of about ten teens fighting near the intersection of Rush and Chicago. Officers who went to the area said they dispersed a crowd of about “30 youths” who had been “running around” the intersection of State and Wabash.

Lori described the incident as a “tragedy”! Like some unavoidable disaster.

Jeez…….

I worked in clubs and restaurants on Rush, Ontario, Division and State during the mid 80’s. Wild-n-gritty at times in places – but never anything like what happens in these areas one week after another now.

I wonder how bad it will have to get before Chicago’s political swamp decides they really have to do something about it that actually works?

Lightfoot says these crimes are being committed by people who don’t respect the value of life. I agree, but she needs to look in the mirror too. She is a big proponent of killing black babies at a numbers rate (not percentage) that exceeds whites 4 to 1. And blacks are only 12% of the population. You have no credibility about “value of life” topics Lori.

Would you look in the mirror with a face like that?

This is a message to Lori from Toni; don’t even entertain staying. You beat me once, I’ll beat you last!

How would you like to be a realtor in that area?

My buddy owns a moving company and moved a guy out of that area to Florida. He told my buddy he decided to leave when someone was killed on his block.

I’ve got to think that’s a popular topic of discussion for all the residents there. Who wants to live in fear? Why live someplace where you can’t go out at night?

A swarzer gunned down a completely innocent grandfather in Chinatown less than one week after I said goodbye to my two brothers who lived one half block away. Too bad Chicago refuses to make pistol ranges available to those stuck without personal transportation. Moved to Simpsonville SC where we have many ranges within three miles of home.

There are more gun ranges than convenience stores near my house in NC. I’m just over the border from you. You chose a nice spot. I head to Greenville every few weeks to shop.

Lori’s press conference was a hoot! Jason Ervin was wearing his disguise for selling dope in the Maywood Forest Preserve. He looked like a picnic table. Lori’s new buzzword is consequences. Craig Wall asked about potential violence around Memorial Day and graduation parties. Lori and Brown had an Oh Fck look at the mention of graduation parties! That’s first class preparedness!

Looking at film of the area. Teens and young adults fighting. Looked like a scene from McClintock.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
