New Obama presidential center artist commissions include Lindsay Adams painting inspired by Langston Hughes poem – Culture Type

“Embracing her intersectional identity as a Black woman with Cerebral Palsy, Adams’s art serves as both a reflection and extension of self,” according to herbiography, “challenging narratives of race and representation while exploring personal and collective histories.”  And Adams added, “It is my privilege to translate ‘Weary Blues’ for the Obama Presidential Center. The piece will become part of a shared environment at the Center’s café— an atmosphere for gathering, reflection, and rest—extending the piece’s emotional tenor into a communal space rooted in legacy, resilience, and imagination."

While it’s heartwarming to know the Obama Presidential Center café will be a sanctuary for ‘reflection and rest,’ maybe someone could reflect on who’s going to tuck point the cracks in the actual building. After all, art inspired by ‘Weary Blues’ might be poetic, but it won’t hold up a palatial palace when the foundation’s crumbling. Perhaps the next commissioned piece could be titled, ‘Structural Integrity: A Love Story.

I wonder if the Unhoused will be welcomed into the sanctuary of thought and intersectionality?

I’m sure that the Pharaoh’s edifice will be full of those without employment and no desire to find any sitting and contemplating works of art such as this all day. Perhaps add some of Hunter Biden’s masterpieces and that infamous oil painting of Harold Washington in a full length evening gown as well.

These folks are so out of touch with normal people, they can’t even speak clearly to express a thought without using all of the needed LGBQMOUSE buzz words and condescension. She is going to “translate” this and it will be in a “shared Environment”,,,good God. It will be in a cafeteria decorating the walls. Sheesh.

Will one of Hunter’s ‘piant by numbers’ paintings that sold to CCP connected Chinese for $500k make it’s way into the library gallery? Hope so – eveyone needs to see the grift sanctioned by Obama.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
