Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. While it’s heartwarming to know the Obama Presidential Center café will be a sanctuary for ‘reflection and rest,’ maybe someone could reflect on who’s going to tuck point the cracks in the actual building. After all, art inspired by ‘Weary Blues’ might be poetic, but it won’t hold up a palatial palace when the foundation’s crumbling. Perhaps the next commissioned piece could be titled, ‘Structural Integrity: A Love Story.
I wonder if the Unhoused will be welcomed into the sanctuary of thought and intersectionality?
I’m sure that the Pharaoh’s edifice will be full of those without employment and no desire to find any sitting and contemplating works of art such as this all day. Perhaps add some of Hunter Biden’s masterpieces and that infamous oil painting of Harold Washington in a full length evening gown as well.
These folks are so out of touch with normal people, they can’t even speak clearly to express a thought without using all of the needed LGBQMOUSE buzz words and condescension. She is going to “translate” this and it will be in a “shared Environment”,,,good God. It will be in a cafeteria decorating the walls. Sheesh.
