Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
JB, you are an embarrassment to the state of Illinois…
As are the people who WILLINGLY remain in Illinois and fund this corruption.
Just like Russians that stay in Russia and fund/enable Adolf Putler.
Kind of reminds me how the blacks are opposed to migrant shelters in their neighborhood, their position is “where’s ours”. That’s the same thing every business in Illinois should be asking Pritzker, where’s ours?
That Pritzker would write such an awful letter, presumably with the expectation that it will work for him, illuminates again both how thoughtful JB thinks he needs to be, and how smart he thinks the rest of us (supporters and “irrelevant” Republicans alike) are-n-aren’t.
He’s an arrogant buffoon. Pride before the fall type of thing. JB’s ancestor once wrote, “Pride comes before destruction, and an arrogant spirit before a fall.”
So fed up with hearing crap insults like “xenophobic” or “racist.” Especially here, where a long list of top Democratic national security officials have been among the strongest voices warning against Chinese operations just like this. Pritzker is actually insulting his own party’s foreign policy establishment.
Yep, all true.
The good news is that JB’s response certainly isn’t going to accomplish much in the way of getting this story out of the news cycle.
It’s a target rich environment for credible criticism.
Let’s hope he gets lots….
JBs letter makes no mention of the $1/2 billion in Illinois taxpayer bucks or $billions in fed taxpayer bucks being forked over to Gotion (CCP) for 2,600 jobs?
If this company was a Chinese Taiwanese company, would there be as many objections? It’s not xenophobia against the Chinese, it’s against the CCP. Pritzker has to be called out on the difference.
It’s always rich when Governor Carnival Barker cries out “xenophobia”! He accuses Republicans of political grandstanding when it’s the basis of every single thing he does. Illinois continues to lose businesses, and that is born out in the numbers regularly reported. His Royal Highness praises the “trillions” invested by the Chinese, casting a blind eye to the ongoing technology theft that the US Government acknowledges they commit. Now he brings them into our own backyard and hands them tax credits all day long! And while it would be easy to further dissect the letter word by word to demonstrate how… Read more »
Budgeting and business are BORING. Where the babies at? They need abortions!
OMG, this letter by Pritzker was a very bad idea. He is so arrogant. This will be an exhibit in the criminal trial(s).
Missing at the bottom of the letter, P.S Please don’t hurt my investment.
