“It frequently seems that some of those mandates involve more reporting and measuring, but we haven't even taken the time to figure out if we still need to measure this or that,” State Rep. Jeff Keiche said. “Do we still have a need for this information? Does this information actually further what we're trying to do in the schools?”
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
