Ngozi Ezike admits to ethics violation for taking Sinai CEO job, will pay $150K fine – Crain’s*

Dr. Ngozi Ezike has agreed to pay a $150,000 fine to settle allegations that she violated Illinois ethics laws when she took the CEO job at Sinai Chicago shortly after leaving the state’s public health department. She headed the Illinois Department of Health during the Covid pandemic.

So to summarize, the good doctor left her $178,000 state position to go work for a new employer for the sum of $760,000 annually, and that new employer had state contracts of $4.2 million in the year prior. Alrighty then.
