The ankle monitoring thing is ridiculous. Two days off to presumably look for a job (bank job, liquor store job?) for recidivists who use the time (or just remove the device and leave it at home) to commit more crimes, particularly violent crimes, is governmental failure to address public safety. Of course there’s no accountability by proponents of ankle monitoring. Something bad happens, they more or less say whoops. And now they move enforcement from Dart, who has little desire but at least some means to enforce monitoring to Evan’s who has no desire and no means to enforce. This… Read more »

A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
