Rural Illinois is awful. Rural Midwest is actually doing OK. Rural IL is failing because the state has driven working class conservatives out and replaced them with democrat voting immigrants in Chicago.

The methamphetamine/opioid crisis has been a major contributing factor as well. Here in Crawford County, everywhere you look there are people who are old beyond their years.
