No word on when Chicago or Illinois will lift its mask mandate – WGNTV (Chicago)

In a state with a population of 12.7 million people, COVID-related hospitalizations represent .015 percent of the population. Eighteen percent of in-use ICU beds are occupied by COVID patients, and IDPH reports that 8 percent of people in the hospital are being treated for COVID-related illness. Yet, Governor JB Pritzker’s administration has not said how close we are to lifting the statewide indoor mask mandate that went into effect August 30.

Come on. The IL Democrats won’t raise their farcical mask mandate until the day after the Novermber 2022 elections. That is obvious.

The Nov 22 elections will be an excuse to extend mask mandates until 2024. Dems will take a beating, and the only response they have will be to double down on the classic hits like “masks” and “lockdowns” because that’s what their voters and fans want. I was at an outdoors public event today and there was a not insignificant number of people wearing masks. Outdoors. In 70 degree weather. With 25 mph wind guts. It is a religion and a virtue signal to wear a mask. that’s why I downvoted you!

There will be NO lifting of any mandates…

In fact even more rigorous masking, social distancing & lockdown mandates may soon be implemented…

Our progressive elitist leaders are busy watching & taking notes on how Australia is currently goin insane over far fewer cases than we allegedly have…

The Australian media is condoning & even encouraging the aggressive tactics being used by the police for *public safety*…

Why can’t it happen here too…?

There’s something in the water in Oz because they went off the deep on authoritarianism; crazily enough, most of the population seems in favor of the strict measures…

The mask mandate is already over for me because I’m not complying with it. I don’t wear a mask anywhere I go here in the St. Louis Metro East region of Illinois. Mandating the covid vaccine and mask wearing is abhorrent. I’m not of the belief that mask wearing and the covid vaccine work, but even if they do work, they should still be optional. The covid vaccine has been responsible for so many severe adverse reactions, including death, that it should never be mandated regardless of how efficacious it may or may not be. I’m a mask and vaccine… Read more »

“I’m a mask and vaccine libertarian. I hate wearing a mask and I hate mask mandates, but I don’t care if others want to wear a mask. I’m not getting the covid vaccine, but I don’t care if others get it. Libertarianism isn’t equipped to handle the forced-maskers and forced-penetration crowed. They refuse to accept the live and let live philosophy. The only position to take is that masks should be prohibited and forced mandates prohibited. Those fearful of coronavirus – no different than any other pandemic in human existence – should stay in their homes, watch netflix and use… Read more »

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
