The school shutdown lobby, including American Federation of Teachers' Randi Weingarten, now want voters to forgive them. Not so fast. Teachers’ unions lobbied hard to keep them closed and succeeded in far too many places where they dominate local and state politics. Many big city school districts didn’t reopen until spring 2021. Chicago didn’t offer full in-person learning until last fall. The results in lost learning have been catastrophic.

“Getting something wrong is not a moral failing”. That’s true. The moral failing is that they insisted they were right, shut down any opposition, and claimed moral authority to impose their views on everyone. The follow-the-science crowd is morally responsible for the harm they caused. There should be no “oops, sorry, we didn’t know” amnesty.
It’s not even over. Doctors in many states can and are losing their licenses for publicly speaking out against the covid treatment protocols or administering their own.
The only *amnesty* I would consider giving is amnesty from voting (D) if they now vote (R) and disavow their damaging leftist ways…
