"We’re in the beginning of summer, this is going to be happening more and more," said resident Joe Jacobazzi. "...I saw the disturbance last night, and it just seemed like the police, as usual, are just reactive and not proactive."

If I were a cop in Chicago, I’d do just the bare minimum, and I’d even do that strictly by the book, paperwork and all done very carefully and slowly. You remove immunity from cops, why should they be “proactive”? Maybe this party was a peaceful protest? The cop would have to wait for orders from the top to confirm its not a protest or he’d be prosecuted. And there were many black people there, you’re asking the cops to be “proactive” against blacks? Thats racist right, I mean all wokesters believe cops are racist right?

The same group who complain about systemic racism allow their offspring to run around the city creating mayhem such as their behavior the other night.

We don’t need sensitivity training, we need bigger paddy wagons. Arrest them. Second offense, some detention time. Third offense, jail.

Either you try and figure out how to assimilate into a positive, contributing role in society, or you get removed from society. Done with this nonsense.

Cops not being proactive?

Let’s see … lay a hand on any wilding and kiss your career good-bye.

Cops understand the lay of the land and, by the way, the vast majority of policing is reactive, not proactive since the day ‘stop and frisk’ was attacked as racist. See how well that has worked for NYC – went from relatively low crime to the very kind of lawlessness we see in Chicago.

Not backing law enforcement has its cost.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
