‘Once in a lifetime opportunity’: Springfield police sending officers to Inauguration – State Journal-Register (Springfield)

The Mobile Field Force team will boost security at the Presidential Inauguration. Pictured here is the team at the Democratic National Convention that took place in August of 2024.The Springfield officers, who are part of the Mobile Field Force team locally that specializes in crowd control, will likely be working along the Inaugural parade route, said Lieutenant Joe Phillips. The Springfield team joins around 4,000 officers traveling to the nation's capital from across the U.S.
