Online gambling could be next for Illinois’ expanding industry – Center Square

Bonus.com researcher Heather Fletcher said Illinois is one of five states to watch this year for possible online casino legalization. “Specifically for Illinois, once the market is mature it could mean $240 million, and that is if it’s taxed the same rate as sports,” Fletcher said.

Remember when “industry” related to producing something meaningful? Now that IL is promoting online gambling, what’s next? How low will this state sink to generate revenue from its residents?

Wonderful. IL now known for abortion, pot shops, sports betting, casinos, and now online betting. Also, jailed, indicted, corrupt politicians. My father would never recognize the state. His philosophy always was, set aside a certain amount for savings and never spend more than you earn. Home every night for dinner and checking our homework. Not the IL motto.
