David Kolata, executive director of Citizens Utility Board and Valeria Rincon, National Resources Defense Council's Midwest Building Decarbonization advocate: "Chicago needs to begin implementing an exit strategy from gas and start investing in cheaper, safer, cleaner and more reliable options for meeting our household energy needs."

Biden Lied About Not Considering A Ban On Gas Stoves – Fox News

“…cheaper, safer, cleaner and more reliable options …” No, their intention is to provide LESS reliable options and the ‘cheaper, safer, cleaner’ is all subject to how you determine ‘cheaper, safer, cleaner.’ Sun and wind are unreliable – in this area just this past snowfall solar panels were useless. Wind turbines disrupt wildlife (land, air and sea) and are NOT recyclable. What happens to all that fiberglass when the wind turbine wears out? Do we leave them in the middle of a cornfield or offshore? This whole idea is WRONGHEADED and typical of the climate crazies. CUB, you’ve fallen so… Read more »

These types of articles from CUB printed in Crains just show how ideologically captured the progressive left has become. Because they’re their all just communist apparatchiks all of one mind. They’re no different than all the other communists BLM, trans, Globohomo. Different ideologies, all one goal. Communism.

You damn utopians are nuts! Your sick! You think you can just will it, like a child playing make-believe, and it will happen. When it’s zero degrees out, have you ever ONCE considered what natural gas does to keep the region warm? Your stupid people with WAY too much pseudo education.

I love cooking on my gas stove. Gawd the Democrat’s strawman on gas stove these days. Funny how the low information folks, that vote a lot, suck this right in
Illinois…go figure

Natural gas is the only way for restaurants to do proper cooking. Eco-F*cktard Karens need to stay in their lane.

As long as the exit strategy in solely construction, then let the market decide.

I can’t even recall my gas ever going out. ComEd on the other hand is at least twice a year. I’ll stick with my cheaper, reliable and better for cooking gas. The eco-fascists can go fuq themselves.

The goal of the Democrats is to make gas stoves unaffordable for middle-class America. Just as Democrats made air conditioning more expensive by outlawing R22 gas, made lighting more expensive by outlawing the incandescent bulb, made driving more expensive by requiring destructive alcohol be put in your car, Democrats now want to make cooking meals for your family incredibly expensive.

I find myself replacing these supposed 60-80,000 hour LED bulbs within 2 years. It’s almost like we were sold a bunch of BS. At this point trust nothing anyone from any government tells me. In fact I pretty much assume the opposite is the truth.

I bought a ton of those incandescent bulbs before they were banned. I have boxes and boxes of them. And lamps for them.

‘Climate Change’ (whatever in the Sam Hell that is) is a religious belief for these people – facts do not matter. No different than with Covidstan and their talisman ‘the mask’. These people are crackpots and have no business being in leadership of any kind. However, they seem to have found a welcoming home in the Democrat party.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
