Last March 26, Lightfoot closed all city parks and beaches as well as the 606 trail and Riverwalk. When asked why the city’s 600 playgrounds are still closed, Chicago Parks CEO Michael P. Kelly, who received a 4% raise, or $7,997, from $222,003 to $230,000, said it would be too hard to keep them clean.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
