Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. The headline “Broken Property Tax System” made me think that Vallas was proposing substantive changes. Actually he is just proposing that the existing system be competently managed. Which would be an improvement, but still a drag on production and quality of life.
Toni Taxwinkle is the head of the snake in Crook county. The sooner she is gone the better.
I’m clueless as to the time and costs for upgrading IT systems but I have to think it shouldn’t take five years and $265M. Unfortunately Preckwinkle doesn’t get enough credit by our local media for being a truly horrible cook county president.
Thats because the local media has no balls to print anything bad about these mopes. The mopes will scream racism. Its their get out of jail card
The local media have their lips firmly planted on leading democrats asses.
Vote Preckwinkle out. She uses suburbs to tax and support Chicago. She doesn’t think that she represents suburban taxpayers too.
That’s what I think also Deb. She’s extracting her version of reparations out of Cook County Taxpayers. Preckwinkle is steeped in victimOlogy, as are her constituents and she governs accordingly. If it wasn’t for the values of the suburbanites of CC, Chicago would look like Harvey…or Dolton.
Toni deserves a jail sentence…..on Epstein Island.
More “fighting for the working class” 3-card Monty CC style$$$ What a complete despicable moral outrage all these ghouls are from tony to martwick.
