‘People are scared’: Fear permeates every aspect of life in Chicago, under threat of mass immigration deportations – Chicago Tribune*

Workers were afraid to go to their jobs. Many predominantly Latino business corridors remained empty. Some parents kept their children out of school, fearing immigration raids could strike classrooms and playgrounds, spots that were previously considered safe havens. Patients decided to forgo medical appointments. Church services shifted to virtual platforms instead of in-person attendance. Social service workers reported a climate of anxiety and trepidation among clients.

MSM still ginning up the fear angle just as broken record Joe did re white supremacy. It didn’t work then and it’s not working now. Most people that I know are relieved that something is finally being done after four years of inactivity by whomever was in charge.

There is a solution to their fear. They can go back to their native countries and try to make them great!

Corruption permeates every aspect of life in Chicago. It is the most corrupt city in the nation. If fear permeates every aspect of life in Chicago, maybe that’s because there’s nobody to respond to 911 calls. Maybe fear permeates every aspect of life in Chicago because the mayor embraces lawlessness.

There’s fear in Chicago, fear on the CTA, fear of being carjacked, of being attacked in grocery store parking lots. And no, I’m not implying that only illegals are the perps, but they have added to the fear factor in this city.

Maybe you should be scared when you break the law. Isn’t that what law and order is all about?

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
