The Co-Responders Pilot Program in the police departments of Springfield, East St. Louis, Peoria, and Waukegan will establish co-responder units that will work with social workers and mental health professionals on calls involving those who may need mental or behavioral health services.
The mental health whatever’s are refusing to respond without police escorts. So to avoid looking militant in our response we’ll call it partnering or co-respondents! They’ll be going in with those poles with a noose on the end! Badger poles!

Cops can’t wear all the hats and this program has promise … until the first mental health worker is injured or killed.
With the absolute distain that Chicagoans demonstrate for first responders, it probably won’t be long.
