Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. The state’s existing buyout program for its own pensions is the precedent for Chicago, which should be a warning: Look out for similar exaggerated claims and shoddy analysis.

You see, you must check your Whiteness. You have preconcieved notions, based in Whiteness, of what is acceptable teenage crowd behavior. It is systemic racism to even suggest that large groups of African-American teenagers roaming around downtown city streets all hours of the night, all weekend long causing mayhem is undesirable. BIPOC teenagers have rejected Whiteness and you are a racist unless you reject it too. This is perfectly acceptable Black and African-American behavior. In fact, it is Black Culture. Those darn teenagers from Wilmette and Glencoe, shame on them! I saw a picture of a bunch of Amish youths trashing a convenience store on Michigan Ave. and then escaped via their horse and buggy, something must be done!
It’s the rowdies from Naperville, Schaumburg, and Barrington riding the Metra into the city and ruining it for everyone!
