Potential name change for Starved Rock State Park a surprise to Native American leader – WBBM (Chicago)

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources recently announced it would consult with Native American leaders about finding more appropriate names for some state parks because some names are not considered respectful. Starved Rock in LaSalle County is named after a legend about Native Americans starving to death there while seeking refuge from a battle with another tribe.

Reminiscent of the Native American leaders that stepped forward re the Washington Redskins name change. Some of them said that they had no problem with the logo/ name and were unaware how many true Native Americans actually did. It seems that a few SJW’s are trying to tell the various nations what is good for them.

There are a bunch of things more pressing than worrying about renaming a state park that actually reflects an event in Native American history or is a part of the Native American culture. Woke people destroying history.
