Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. He’s busing them straight to hell right now. And Toni is there to greet them.
Agree, Sheeeetcago is the real Hell Toni!!
Why is Preckwinkle “upset”? Chicago and Cook County touted themselves as “sanctuaries” for undocumented migrants, so the arriving “migrants” should be no surprise whatsoever,
Even though we Chicagoans are stuck with the housing-food-medical-social costs of hosting these “migrants”, we also can’t expect Texas to bear the full burden of Biden’s “Open Borders” policies.
So, lemme get this straight if I can:
For decades preceding 2022 Mexicans and other Central Americans could stream across the border, sneak up to Chicago and the surrounding suburbs (Cicero says Hola!) and the collar counties (Aurora says Hola!), live multiple folks to a home, remain illegal, take jobs from citizens, not pay taxes, and it’s Muy Bueno.
2022 starts and one state governor sends busses of Mexican and other Central American immigrants to Chicago and it’s Muy Malo!
I suspect that now the sneaking is in clear view it’s a CRISIS!
The difference is that the former illegal immigrants came here with with an informal or formal family support network in place. They’d arrive and live with siblings, or cousins, often they’d have american citizen family members arrange to supply them with housing and and informal employment. I met a mexican the other day who has been here for three decades living around the country with various extended relatives including uncles, cousins and family friends, before settling in Chicago. This new batch of immigrants is more like an invasion from the third world. Many of them don’t have the family network… Read more »
She’s nothing but a lying to faced bytch who’s in charge of a Welcoming County, in a Welcoming state and a Welcoming City. Shut up you incompetent piece of dirt.
Even Milton Friedman, a strong advocate of economic freedom, stated, “You cannot simultaneously have free immigration and a welfare state.”
I’ve never seen such an unaccountable group as Biden and Leftist Democrats. Create mayhem, and then throw their hands up and blame others – it has to be intentional.
You better hope there’s no hell Toni.
I believe there’s a special place reserved for crooked, inept and conniving politicians.
Sure, and its all too often the next step up the political ladder.
Really lame follow up questioning on the issue of busing immigrants. Texas is buckling under the numbers and Chicago claimed to be a sanctuary. But Toni says it’s just a political stunt. And this article excludes another important point Toni mentioned in the interview, which is that the county is paying for medical help for the immigrants — $1.8 million/month.
The true political stunt is claiming to be a sanctuary for migrants then coming up short on all attempts to support them.
Ask Toni how many buses Cook County has chartered over the years to get migrants from the border to Chicago. The truth is she enjoyed that 1,400 mile buffer until the border came to her doorstep.
Every citizen’s access to healthcare will be diminished because the progressive’s invading hordes will compete for healthcare
Resources will be spread over a larger base as the illegal hordes absorb SNAP benefits, general assistance, and housing help.
This is a crisis created by the Biden administration and it’s hurting everyone.
Close the border and deport the invaders en masse.
This isn’t a partisan issue – this is the future of our country.
Ohio senator JD Vance the other day basically laid out that there’s just not enough housing for 10,000,000 new immigrants. Everyone is screaming about high rents. Why do they think rents are so high and there’s no affordable housing? Because millions of immigrants have come here in the past several years and are living in the affordable housing, disrupting the entire rental market.
Look at the homebuilder stocks, they’re all going up. We need housing.
Crooked Corrupt Cook County Democrat Boss Preckwinkle Blames Texas For Chicago Sanctuary City Shit Show, Instead Of Biden/Democrat Open Border Blunder
The Texas governor is coming to Cook County?!
Nice analogy!👍😄
