A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
This article states two examples of where JB authorized AI and makes it sounds as if there is only good to come from it. However, it does not say what kind of oversight there will be. Put as many rules in place as you want, but if no one watches the hen house it doesn’t do any good. Look at Madigan and Ryan for starters. There need to be standards before complete buffoons start writing their own handbooks on managing AI.
