Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. It’s time that we, the people, just stop this mask nonsense! Shop in your local stores without a mask, and give others the confidence to take their masks off too. If store owners push back, leave and don’t shop there anymore. There are plenty of freedom loving businesses that will welcome your support. Next he will mandate wearing a mask in the shower. Deep sea diving or at high altitudes/in space masks are fine but not in the shower.
Good thing most businesses have stopped being the states unpaid enforcer of masks, they are sick of doing the job of harassing their own customers. My wife just got back from picking up a baptism cake at a bakery in Cook County. She no longer wears a mask anywhere, the bakery didn’t say a thing to her. The other customers had masks. They looked at her. I would imagine half of them thought she was evil and the other half thought she was brave and wished they too had that bravery.
I drive past several covid testing sites each day and they are empty parking lots. Don’t see how they get these numbers of positive tests. The fear mongering has to stop in this state. The rest of the country has moved on, and just like our economy, we sit here with a fat and rich government and we are left with nothing.

We all saw this coming. JB will continue to extend the mask mandate through the holidays. No doubt about it. The King loves to keep his big fat thumb on his subjects.

No business I utilize actually enforces their mask requirement (as per posted sign on doors). I walk in mask free, and am unmolested. Some masked Karens might give me looks, but they don’t bother me none. I just smile and walk on by. It’s good to be a free citizen. 😀
Ditto. My wife and I gave up masking, never harassed except at Pearl Vision, which we will never use again. We even went to two wakes this month, funeral homes don’t want to be enforcers for Pritzker either. Businesses are sick of having to be unpaid enforcers, what do they do call the cops on customers or let them spend money? Not a hard decision there if you’re a business.
You do NOT need a mandate for people to wear masks, if they so choose to for whatever reason.

The King loves to see his subjects obeying his orders placed upon them. Many, by now, have recognized that the situation is not about health concerns and rather instead is an ego trip for the King.
