Pritzker brushes off Trump ‘border czar’ promise to start deportations in Chicago – WGNTV (Chicago)

“Rather than responding to every ridiculous boast from Trump lackeys, Governor Pritzker is focused on what he was focused on during the first Trump term: leading our state with competence instead of chaos," said a Pritzker spokesman.

If cites and states refuse to cooperate in deportations there may not much that can be done- unless they actually violate law in very specific ways.

However, Trump can make the little piggies squeal when he cuts off federal funds for a wide variety of federal/state service.

Wrong. Federal law will be enforced. Obstruct at your own risk.

Homan said locals can help or get out of the way. If they refuse to get out of the way, I think that is obstruction.

What does get out of the way mean? What if locals set up a defense fund for illegals to fight deportation? What if locals refuse to share arrest records? Short of physically stopping federal agents not sure how locals will be guilty of obstruction. There are currently about 1.5 million illegals that have exhausted their due process and have an order to deport. Without help from local authorities the feds won’t even kick out the low hanging fruit of the 1.5 million. You need to set some real expectations otherwise you’ll be sadly disappointed. Oh, and you can forget about… Read more »

I believe legal citizens will cooperate and pull the plug on the illegals, and as usual Pritzker was on the leftist news media shooting his mouth off.

I think a LOT of citizens are ready to help Homan. See something, say something. Enough is enough!

The sad part is that illegals will be drawn to states like Illinois, California, Colorado and New York. Therefore the residents who are stuck here (for any variety of reasons) will be forced to bear the brunt of these BS policies. Even though I am one of the people who are stuck in this God forsaken state, I hope Pritzker keeps running his mouth and draws national attention. He is driving the nails in his own political coffin. His money won’t be able to BUY enough votes nationwide if he keeps up his leftist rhetoric.

Most illegals aren’t just throwing darts on a map for places to move. They move where they have networks of people they already know, often siblings, extended family members, even neighbors. For a supposedly family oriented (la familia) as Latin America is, most of those countries have out-of-wedlock birthrates that rival the African-American community in the US. They all have half-siblings and half-nephews and brothers from another mother, and so on, so there are always extended networks of extended relations they can room with and work for as soon as they get here. The Venezuelan migrants living in the shelters… Read more »

I hope Pritzker impedes “the Lackey” in the commission of his duties and is the first one arrested.

Since many Leftist Democrats support and are friendly with illegal alien gangs, criminals, and the NGO’s that help to facilitate the human trafficking of minors, there probably needs to be a Fair Warning for them : The era of Leftist Democrats like Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Schumer, Pritzker, and Johnson dismissing Supreme Court rulings and thumbing their noses at our Constitution and Federal laws is over. Leftist Democrats should advise your illegal alien criminal friends, their associates and collaborators, and families to self-deport before the borders are closed. Holman has a law enforcement job to do, and he will not be… Read more »

JB’s loud, noisy and raucous opposition to anything and everything Trump is all to gain national media attention in support of the Pritzker For President 2028 campaign. Illinois is simply cannon fodder for JB’s dream.

“THE HAPPY MEAL WARRIOR is focused on what he was focused on during the first Trump term: leading our hell hole state with INCOMPETENCE, CORRUPTION AND CRIME instead of HONESTY, INTEGRITY AND COMMON SENSE,” said a HAPPY MEAL WARRIOR spokesman.

There, I fixed it for you, Happy Meal Warrior Lackey!

JB is well acquainted with the qualifications of a lackey. He was one for the DNC, jumping through hoops and being their cheerleader until they shafted Joe with the coup and picked the empty pantsuit, with nary a nod to him. He is now making noise from the bench he is so familiar with riding in hopes 2028 will be his year to finally get on the other side of the playing field lines instead of making sure the Gatorade cooler is still full.

There are no rigged voting machines in this situation to protect the governor and legislators sanctuary city, state. And it seems a good number of Illinois residents side with Homan vs Pritzger, Johnson, and the legislators. Go forth Mr. Homan, blessings, we are with you!

What really irritates me is how do these courts come to this conclusion and just flagrantly trample the Constitution of the United States of America.

Irregardless of a state or city or county or town proclaiming ‘sanctuary’ for illegal aliens, the Federal Government can enforce its laws. I can’t wait for Pritzker, Johnson, or any other nut bag Leftist Democrat to obstruct Holman in his duties.

Sanctuary applies to not denying illegals housing and emergency healthcare and schooling. It does not apply to the harboring, aiding and abetting violent felon illegal immigrants.

Well, let’s take a minute to define chaos. Would chaos be akin to looming structural budget deficits in the billions, one of the highest unemployment rates in the country, huge tax credits gifted to failing EV makers, a shrinking population, state public transportation agencies facing a fiscal cliff and a new Administration that won’t do a thing to help you because you arrogantly pissed them off? If Pritzker wants to know what caused the chaos he can look at his reign of ineptitude for the last 6 years.

Yes of course, I was just adding to the list.

Most border patrol agents, so called NGO’s, and other traffickers were “just doing my job” by following unlawful orders and violating their oath of office. They will need to be prosecuted as prescribed by law, or we risk facing the same situation 4 years from now.

JB has for a while been believing the BS spouted out by the staffers that he pays out of his own wallet. They really have the guy duped and are ripping him off for multiple six figure salaries while they pretend to ignore the political shift that has taken place in the country. They continually– and successfully- hoodwink the naive rich guy because they have convinced him that they have turned him into a national political figure. Keep paying us, please. We can make you somebody. But they know what he does not know. Short, fat, hard left, billionaire governors… Read more »

It is crazy that he pays his state staffers out of his own pocket through some random LLC he created just for that purpose. That has got to be unconstitutional and illegal. But who is going to challenge it?

What is Pritzker’s ‘lackey’ going to say when Homan arrests Pritzker?

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
