Pritzker joins wave calling for 25th Amendment. What that means for Trump – USA Today

Pritzker: "This is not foreign policy, it’s a deranged mad man threatening to wipe out an entire country. It's past time. The 25th Amendment must be invoked."

Trump’s crazy policy seems to have actually worked, and brought Iran to its heels, and much like the joke when I was a kid: why does new Polish navy have glass bottom boats? So they can see the old Polish navy – the 5th and 6th level bureaucracy doesn’t appear as eager to die a certain death as their predecessors who refused to stop chanting ‘death to america’. All they need to do is stop funding terrorism. And moreover, the internet pictures of Soleimani’s sultry 25 year old niece cavorting around Los Angeles probaby did as much, if not more… Read more »

I don’t believe your statements: ” By the time November rolls around, the Iran war will have been mostly forgotten” and “Trump’s crazy policy seems to have actually worked, and brought Iran to its heels” are going to age well. Bringing Iran to its heels may be meaningless if they still control the Strait of Hormuz and even if the U.S. is out of the Iranian theater of war by November, the impact of what Trump has started is still going to be felt and the voters will consider that when they vote. I will also admit that my analysis of… Read more »

I was initially very skeptical of Trump’s decision to bomb Iran, but his bombing campaign, coordinated closely with Israel, has been executed nearly flawlessly by the standards of modern warfare. It was a highly targeted operation that effectively destroyed Iran’s military infrastructure. There wasn’t even a meaningful battle. Iran could barely mount a response, sending only a few missiles, most of which were shot down. The campaign also targeted the central bank’s ability to pay soldiers, many of whom are now missing paychecks and appear to be simply refusing to fight. In a striking propaganda move, authorities detained Qasem Soleimani’s niece… Read more »

A few things. I’m not sure we’re getting back to the free flow of oil, like we had before the war started, in the foreseeable future. Iran has claimed they mined the Strait of Hormuz and the only safe passage is through the territorial waters of Iran. Many don’t believe this is actually true, but as long as shipping companies do, they will transit in and out of the Strait through Iran’s territorial waters and pay the toll to do so. The standard of modern warfare has changed. While you are correct that U.S. military might has crushed much of… Read more »

“I’ve got the proof right here, backdoors built-in to electronic voting systems that allow flipping, changing of votes, infiltrating the system, all built in, set up in a way that makes it easy, and untraceable. I can demonstrate this to you even while I’m still here in this building and I’m happy to do so. The testing labs all missed this. Then they’re blindly certified. Then we’re told that everything is safe and secure. It’s absolutely not.” – Mark Cook – Georgia House Committee Quietly Removes Key Section of IT Expert’s Public Comment on Critical Voting Machine Vulnerabilities

I hate to admit I agree with anything Jelly Belly says but I agree that Trump has been a complete disaster with Middle East policy and supporting terrorist countries over there. I despise that my tax dollars are getting directed to help kill or directly kill innocent people. The language and bloviating over exterminating people and cultures is repulsive and I guarantee is creating all sorts of blowback that will ultimately harm this country and us as a people for years to come. Is JB a clown? Yes. But if you are blindly following Trump and MAGA nonsense and can’t… Read more »

Interesting comment from a Jewish man. Israel was attacked by Hamas/Hezbollah terrorists funded by Iran and 1,300 Israeli’s lay dead. Death to Israel was voiced by Iranian leaders numerous times. Did Pritzker think they were joking?.

Illinois needs the ability to have a recall for a governor.

You have that ability in less than 8 months. The majority of the voters will most likely put him in office for another 4 years. Having the ability to recall someone that is a strong favorite doesn’t make any sense. The voters don’t even use the mechanisms they currently have in place. Illinois voters already have the ability for change but don’t want it. Voters are getting exactly what they want. It’s time for people here to accept this fact.

No. Then again would they select any republican that could win in the primary? Certainly doesn’t look like it. So you want to recall him so you can elect another democrat? Maybe we can upgrade the same way Chicago did from lightfoot to Johnson. lol

You and others here keep pretending that if the rules were just somehow different you could finally win. All while ignoring that the voters, in general, do not care that much about the issues you believe are important. At least not enough to actually be fed up and choose the alternative.

You continue making that point Mark but no one has ever made such a claim. Where did I make that claim above? I’ve simply stated that voters, when given the choice, prefer what the democrats are offering over Republicans. I also point out these issues that are so upsetting to you, myself and others on this site, don’t bother the majority of the voters enough to make a change. No one is ever going to get “everything” that they want from an elected leader. Not sure why you failing to pick this nuance. My point is merely that it’s pointless… Read more »

“… that voters, when given the choice, prefer what the democrats are offering over Republicans”? Problem lies with who Exactly those “voters” are. A Large Percentage are Public Employee Union members (SEIU, AFSCME, IFT, etc.) who probably vote Democrat at a 90% rate since their Jobs and Benefits are dependent upon Democrat’s reelection. Add to that the “Low Information Voters” who are easily swayed by commercials and don’t even pay attention until the last week or so before the election. Dems have the advantage there again with their Warchests. Finally, add to that the majority of the Under 30 crowd who… Read more »

You must have missed the line I wrote above.

You’ll come up with all kinds of excuses rather than face the truth.”

Thanks for proving me right. Spend time thinking of more excuses rather than accept the truth.

Voters don’t have the ability to buy another election. And IL voters cannot protect from voter fraud: voting from multiple addresses, no voter ID, mail in ballot dumping on election day when results start coming in, gerrymandering, and illegals voting. Also the RNC not getting the vote out or investing in IL.

Ok Deb. Now explain how any of those excuses change in a recall election. Are you saying the Republican voters are more excited to recall the governor than elect one of their own? You do understand that after a governor is recalled, an election will need to take place to choose the next one? Again, how do you alleviate any of those excuses that you’re whining about? The fact that you got any upvotes just proves the Republican base has a real problem with logic and strategy. I guess that’s why we are stuck with Bailey as our choice against… Read more »

Money seems to be a big factor for a lot of people. Heck, large numbers of California’s billionaire tech oligarchy packed up and moved to FL in the past twelve months, to join other NY billionaire refugees. Plebs like you and I, without any money, and ancestral roots to the land, we are stuck here, much like the Russia peasant and Kulak in 1916 before the Bolsheviks took over. The Czar may have sent you to war but Lenin was going to put a bullet in the back of your head. Either way, you weren’t going to leave mother Russia… Read more »

Again anything to try and lift your miserable status in the political field, but you and the other miserable Springfield goons never ever denounced the dimwit in diapers Biden. Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
