Pritzker directs $20 million to food banks as SNAP benefits set to pause – WAND (Decatur)

The executive order gives $20 million in funding to support seven food banks that supply over 2,600 food pantries across Illinois. $10 million is coming from the Budget Reserve for Immediate Disbursements and Governmental Emergencies (BRIDGE) Fund and the other $10 million is from the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS).

So a couple of judges have ordered Trump to release the emergency money to keep funding SNAP. There isn’t enough money for a full month but could Trump send full funding to those states that have a Senator that voted for the CR? Seems like something Trump could do. Even if he couldn’t, once the money is sent out, it would seem very difficult to claw it back. The money would be gone and on Monday the judge can just throw a fit. Shows how much they really care about the SNAP benefits being cut. It’s all show. $20 million for some fruit and veggies and over a billion for illegals and over a billion for public transit.

Plenty more tax money for the state to grab. People need to remember that the next time they think the state is broke.

IL, amongst other blue states, manages to come up with the money when Sugar Daddy Fed won’t. The billions spent on people that shouldn’t even be here would come in handy right now.

$10 wont buy a lot of chips, soda, cookies, frozen pizza etc. but it’s $10 more than the people that paid into the system got.

The money is going to food banks. Which means recipients can get fruits, vegetables, canned goods, frozen meats, etc…The money will actually go to real food.
