Pritzker fights COVID-19 from Chicago, and downstate notices – AP (Chicago)

Thursday marked Pritzker’s 40th daily televised update, and the 29th in a row from his office in downtown Chicago. Some people complain that he’s neglected the rest of Illinois, even as it shares in the economic pain and social disruption from measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Why should Bubblehead concentrate on any other area of the state since Chicago/Cook County is pretty much the place that elected him. Jabba only won 10 counties out of 102 statewide. Nobody except Chi/Cook wants this arrogant entitled rich guy as governor. Screw the peasants he is the king of Chicago

JB won 16 counties in the state of Illinois. The voters in those counties were responsible for 73% of the vote in 2018. The northern part of the state is where the outbreak is located, it’s where most voters live, and it’s the economic engine of the state. So yeah it makes perfect sense. I spend most of my time with business that represents the majority of my business. I spend less time with customers that represent a smaller portion of my business. Not that complicated.

Thank you for confirming what DixonSyder alleges. JB doesn’t give two craps about the rest of the state. He only represents Democrats who voted for him in the Chicago area. Democrats accuse Trump of only representing red states, yet when their own Democrat gov only represents blue counties, it ‘makes perfect sense’.

Time to put your big boy pants on and realize that EVERY politician does this. That’s exactly how you win elections.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
