Pritzker for VP is a Good Choice for Winning Over Never-Trumpers | Opinion – Newsweek

Conservative-leaning independents might find Pritzker palatable because of his business ties. It is no secret that Republicans love a rich white dude. The economy is a big factor in everyone's decision this election, and Pritzker may have the economic chops to collect votes in November. His supporters in the state brag about how he "stabilized Illinois' finances," balanced the budget, and "helped get the state back on its feet." These accomplishments will sit very well with those worried about the financial state of the nation.

This is a perfect example of a hack fourth rate “journalist” trying to give JB a BJ.

I don’t think JB can unite or draw any undecided, especially republican! All they have to do is look at the awful shape Illinois is in, hopefully they’d do their homework without blindly voting!

JB the Hutt tapped to win voters that the DNC already has. I wouldn’t trust the author of this tripe to work at Starbucks slinging coffee.

Fat Fredo has no “business ties”. He’s never done anything in the family business, nor any other business. His family knows he’s stupid, so they keep him away. He just keeps spending the trust fund he has as being a member of the lucky sperm club.

No they don’t. The Chicago media is populated by DNC activists masquerading as journalists regurgitating DNC talking points as if the propaganda had anything to do with reality. The local news shows have all the sheen of the old information sharers, minus the reporters.

Sure, they still cover the traffic and weather (which they frequently get wrong). The local news still provides cheerleading and marketing for Chicago’s dreadful sports teams. Add to that the useless Hollywood promotional tours with scripted interviews with the vapid, talent-bereft cast, and you have your local news cast.

They’re also complete shills and cheerleaders for the entire real estate industry, especially the print industry, which gets much of its few remaining advertising dollars from developers and other real estate industry companies

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
