Kristan Vaughan’s family already gave up one and is trying to sell a second of their seven Irish pubs in the Chicago area. A little off Illinois topic but yesterday the wife and I took a sanity ride to Wisconsin, mainly Rock and Green counties to escape from the livingroom lockdown. Found a nice bar/restaurant that was open for inside seating. A conversation with the owner he told me that his beer distributor, who covers several counties, told him that over 200 bar and restaurants have closed since lockdowns and restrictions were put in place. By January the distributor thinks 600 more will close. Staggering information. Loss of jobs and tax revenue will damage the local economies for years. Double or triple those… Read more »
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
