Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. I agree–wealthy people like J. B. should pay more taxes; and the way to correct this inequity is for him to pay ANY Illinois taxes on the money he hides in Caribbean trust funds.
The irony of all this is that he isn’t even in charge of his money in the offshore trusts. His older brother Thomas is in charge of all the money. JB just gets his cut every year or whatever. JB couldn’t even pay taxes on it if he wanted too, as his brother is control of all the money. Because, obviously, any one who spends $200,000,000 on the governor’s office for the state of Illinois is complete out of their mind and shouldn’t be in charge of anything.
He’s more than welcome to send them as much as he wants. If he sends a check today, it will be cashed tomorrow. Irony is with 250 billion dollars in real pension debt, according to Moody’s, if he sent EVERYTHING he has it would amount to .02% of the shortfall. Anyone that thinks this won’t clobber everyone is crazy.
“Everywhere I go, I hear a new optimism that Illinois is finally getting on the right path and that our future is brighter.”
Where does he go? These are places with which I’m not familiar.
He’s up north, of course. He hears the optimism from his neighbors in Lake Geneva WI. Unfortunately, he’s too dumb to realize that they are actually making fun of him and his boat, arguably, the nicest and most expensive boat on the lake, according to some people. “When Gov. J.B. Pritzker was caught speeding on Geneva Lake in Wisconsin last month [June 2019], he was driving a sleek, custom-built wooden speedboat that’s among the most expensive on the lake. * * * * * * * “The Don Don [Fat Slob’s boat] is one-of-a-kind — there’s nothing like it anywhere,”… Read more »
Alleged Property tax fraud by Pritzker involved special exemption from Statutory requirements of a form to be filed within 90 days of destroyed improvements or unihabitability, “Upon failure so to do within the 90 day period, no diminution of assessed valuation shall be attributable to the property.”. (Pritzker also did not comply with Chicago Code requirements for vacant abandoned property to make filings and be prominently visibly posted as such). Illinois property tax assessment officers are taught to hold one principle above all others: Uniformity. Were ALL assessment appellants asking for reductions due to destruction of improvements or uninhabitable property… Read more »
Something smells fishy on what I just looked up at Zillow.com. Around 1431 N. Astor St (the property in question) Many homes 1 in particular had the same assessment for 9 years and 2 years at $1 more. Many homes went down in value BEFORE the downturn (06-7-8) some stayed the same but went up a lot around 11-12. I know the credit crunch had much to do with this. Click tax history and any property on the map on Astor St and see if you see a similar pattern that I see. Maybe I’m wrong but the ups and… Read more »
Surround yourself with “yes men” and of course you will hear what you want to hear.
He’s correct in saying “The future is Brighter” For those on the receiving end who get pensions-lifetime healthcare-state jobs/etc. For the rest of us our light bulbs have long been burnt out and only have a short candle left and the smoke that it creates will probably be taxed.
This criminal Jabba removes toilets from one of his mansions to get an illegal tax break and now he dares tells us he needs to pay more taxes!?!? Amazing!!
But a lightyears more egregiously hypocacy is he and his familly have untold $billions in offshore tax sheltered accounts..is he / or will he use those billions to push through his tax agenda and fund his machine gerrymander buddies
Did you look at the road sign jabba, oh damn Stratton we’re in indiana
