Pritzker signs BIPA update, ‘justice-impacted individual’ measure, 57 other bills – Center Square

Effective immediately, Senate Bill 2979 expands the definition of written release to include electronic signatures and would make multiple violations of the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act a single violation if committed against one individual.

“Justice-impacted individual” is an ill-conceived phrase. Eventually, we’re all impacted positively or negatively by justice, so we’re all justice-impacted individuals. The State of Illinois uses only the brightest minds to think up these phrases.
