Pritzker: ‘This will go down in history as a profound failure of our national government’ – Capitol News IL

Comment: But on February 28 Pritzker said, “All I’m saying is we’re not relying upon the White House. We, in fact, have one of the best public health systems in the country,” said Pritzker. “And so we’ve got experts here ... who are highly capable of managing the COVID-19 [coronavirus], that’s come upon us.”

Hoes does Illinois have one of the best systems in the country. Rep. Mary Flowers is a sponsor and co- sponsor on bills that would like to address the very high mother and infant mortality rates among African-American women which is more than 2.5 times other ethnic groups. I contacted her office about possible and very cost effective measures that would reduce those numbers. The aide in her Chicago office I spoke to was very interested and will look into but never heard back or received an email back. What will go down in history is how an overfed trust fund baby bought the governorship of a floundering state, with the predicted results.

This, from the Governor that wants us to believe that taxing an already overtaxed portion of our citizenry, so that he’ll get an additional $3.4 Billion, is a good idea because he’ll be able to spend lots of money on new-stuff, even though he’s starting out with $7+ Billion in bills that he can’t pay today.

Governor Tax Cheat – Would rather talk about “Orange Man Bad” than the reality of his relentless advocacy on behalf of policies that will only make Illinois’ bankruptcy of governance and finances worse.

No governing experience at all. They are so far over their heads that we the… Read more »

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
