Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. I’ve often wondered just how mendacious and silly a statement Pritzker would have to make such that an overwhelming number of Illinois’ citizenry would (finally) rise up and call B.S. on the Governor.

Pritzker’s so called tax breaks are like band-aids on a massive head wound. Essentially worthless and so small they do absolutely nothing to address the real need. He knows this but he is desperate for something, anything really, to try and distract the voters from the truth. Democrat progressive policies have been an unmitigated disaster.
