Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
Our big tuna trying to pour influence on the judge. Let’s see at next weeks hearing if it works. At least the representing lawyers are using the language of jury, when reviewing the evidence and realistically thinking what should be coming next.
Has anyone seen the indictment? Is ACLU representing them? This has to cost and least 10k per defendant.
ICE is not nICE. They are not wanted in Illinois. Face the facts, Illinois is now going to be made up of poor immigrants. The rich are fleeing in record numbers.
Face the facts, if you you took half the energy you spend demoralizing Wirepoints commenters and applied it to improving your situation, you would be in a much better place. You could change your name to Nirvana Soon Enough.
Pritzker and gang again fight back back against prosecuting people who break the law.
I would make this deal with the Broadview6
All charges will be dropped, and
You will agree to a public flogging at Daley Plaza!!
OWO!!
Damaging federal property in access of $1,000 is a felony crime with fines and jail time. They can write pig on the cell walls. Hope they like orange
Gee, I wonder what these people would feel like if someone etched “commie” into the side of their car. Want to bet they would want that person arrested and prosecuted?
They very likely went to Broadview to a) virtue signal for campaign and future political purposes, b) to get arrested for political purposes, and c) to make themselves folk heroes where they live (Kat is new to town, doesn’t know her district and needed a splash). They probably have succeeded in their goals, none of which would have been accomplished simply by standing on the sidewalk holding a sign and yelling. Only question is whether the charges (likely overreach and for theater) will be dropped (likely) and when. A lot of commotion.
This is not overreach. This is not theater. This is not commotion.
This is not a minor incident that can be excused.
This is intentional destruction meant to induce violence.
There is a direct line from what these insurrectionists are doing to physical violence against federal agents.
It’s the Marxist playbook going back over 100 years and it needs to be stop NOW!
Their goal is not protest, their goal is destruction of the current system we live under so that they can implement authoritarianism.
Wake up.
Am awake. Yes, they were obstructing, it was not simple peaceful protesting, which doesn’t include physical contact with agents or vehicles. By overreach I mean I don’t think the idea of conspiracy is going to stick – did they all know each other before that day and plan a meet up, or was this spontaneous? If there’s video of someone keying the word pig onto the car, that person likely and hopefully has trouble coming. The Feds are sending a message here to be sure, but do the charges match the behavior? Maybe not. That’s all I’m saying.
Got it. I’m am fearful for the safety of our federal agents and do not want to see these crimes minimized. Violent protesters have been getting a pass for years and I want it to end.
Thank you.
It’s overreach to interfere with law enforcement?
Maybe in Crook county but I hope the feds lock them up.
The feds need hand tasers interfere ZAP and down you go, even if your not arrested your think real hard about doing that again.
The Judge hearing the case on November 5th, April Perry, is a Biden appointee… https://chicago.suntimes.com/donald-trump/2025/10/22/judges-order-blocking-national-guard-deployment-will-remain-in-effect-for-now-but-all-eyes-on-supreme-court “U.S. District Judge April Perry on Oct. 9 stopped President Donald Trump from deploying Illinois and Texas National Guard troops here. Gov. JB Pritzker has objected to the deployment, and Perry’s ruling came in response to a lawsuit filed by Illinois and Chicago …” Also, Kat has raised over $152,000.00 on her fundraising site: “I’ve been indicted by the Trump administration. The Biden appointees are mostly low IQ morons. Biden wasn’t even looking for intelligent qualified judges to rule impartially on the law. He appointed pure commissars to do the progressives’ agenda.
