BN I made a small factual error reading the study abstract. It’s not 75% of all Gazansp are inbred, that’s only among thalassemic patients, people with a rare genetic blood disorder.
The more appropriate stats for consanguinity would be that 45% of previous generations’ marriages were consanguineous, and upwards of 40% of all marriages at the time of this study (2014) were between cousins.
Regardless, this still produces massive number of children, albeit not 75% of children, bred from consanguineous marriages.
i’m only human, I often make mistakes and I try to own up to them when I do.
