Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. And with Dems losing seats in the House, Biden if elected likely won’t have the margins to pass a blue state debt bailout past moderate Dems in red state districts. Illinois can of course borrow from the Fed in the short term, but Jabba and the Madigan machine are in deep trouble now.

I’m not arguing with you on the depravity….many don’t have jobs they are in Chicago….look at the demographics on who support this tax hike amendment. no one in their rightmind would vote to increase taxes on themselves to the tune of 60% after the last 60% tax hike, gas hike, car plates hike, land taxes hikes, etc. the ones voting for this insanity are indeed, the takers, and we are the suckers to be bilked, the makers. Its a fact.
Sure wish I had just 1/4 of the money Pritzker spent on this fair tax. Condolences chuckles.
Pritzker has made +$10M’s from Covid testing. He just used that. Funny how that all works, isn’t it?
You also know that in the long hand if it had gone thru he would have made it that he would not pay the “x-tra” tax. A good portion of the extremely wealthy of Illinois are of his gene pool so you know he was looking after them and at the same time reaching into the wallets and bank accounts of Illinois Taxpayers.
It might have been better if he, Pritzker, would have simply donated the advertising money to the State treasury instead. However, by not making a donation and pursuing more taxes instead, he demonstrated that his goal was not to help the State but rather supported the free spending practices that have decimated the State’s financial situation.
With any luck this may be the call that finally has awoken the voters of Illinois to the current financial mess created by the existing status quo in Springfield/Chicago.
JB will be thrown out next election, this vote seems to show that.
Hopefully people remember all that has happened this time and then when his term comes up and his LYING ads come out they are not taken in by them.
