Proposed gas tax freeze would only save Illinoisans about $15 a year, economist says – WICS (Springfield)

"So if we totally froze the gas tax - gave a gas tax holiday, Over the entire course of the year it would be a saving of about $305 a household," said Dr. Kenneth Kriz, director of the Illinois Institute for Public Finance. "And if we didn't raise it by... say it was gonna go up by say 2 cents, for example, that would be about 15 dollars per household for a year. So, not a lot."

Thank you, Governor Pritzker! What would we do with you?

I hope your time in office ends with November’s election.

Vote the bum out!

Going across the border to Wisconsin if your close will save you much more. Last year I went to Missouri and at the St. Louis Sam’s Club the gas lines were long but organized by employees. Did not have to wait long. Gas was at least 60 cent cheaper and most cars I saw were from Illinois. In the store sales tax was 11.679% so I skipped shopping there. Beloit tax is 5.5%

$0.02 cents a gallon tax delayed equals $2.00 total on 100 gallons of gas purchased. At today’s prices you could almost buy 1/2 gallon. WOW!
