Since when is public safety been an issue? Is this something new to the Cops?
Wonder what they thought they were hired for all this time?
On the side of the cop cars, it used to say, “Serve and Protect”, it now says “At your own risk”.

Chicago is about to find out that crime has a lot more to do with culture than police. I wonder what illogical liberal excuses Vallas will provide when nothing materially improves…presumably the city doesn’t have enough money for school guidance counselors or some nonsense like that. Best of luck to you guys, I moved three years ago and now I just chuckle at all of it.

Crime won’t improve until Kim Foxx is gone. She’ll never leave because she’s not qualified to do much else. However maybe she’ll replace Kwame Raoul, it’s basically a do nothing job and all she’s qualified for is a do nothing job. Vallas will at least delay any city of Chicago bankruptcy, Johnson will accelerate it.

An article full of the same-old same-old.

Everyone has a plan, provided someone else is taxed for whatever the plan is.

Talk is CHEAP!
Cops will start working for a new mayor?
Just yesterday the Union said the cops would resign.
The only thing for sure is nothing will get done, never does.
Taxes will go higher and so will crime.

“If this guy gets in, we’re going to see an exodus like we’ve never seen before,” he said, before adding that there would be “blood in the streets” if Johnson wins. Catanzara also predicted that 800-to-1,000 officers would leave the force if Johnson wins.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
