Video: Rahm Emanuel, Fareed Zakaria and Bill Maher slam Democratic leadership in Chicago, other cities and the left in general – YouTube

Rahm: "We've gone through five years where everybody is far too permissive about our culture, which is why everything is locked up at Walgreens and CVS.... I don't want to hear another word about the locker room. I don't want to hear another word about the bathroom. You better start focusing on the classroom."

The problem with all sensible sounding Dems who act like centrists, is that once they get into office, they side with all the crazy leftists and before you know it they’re transing kids and enforcing DEI. They can never be trusted again for what they’ve done to the country. Remember, the crazy unhinged leftists are the real Dems. They are the true core of the party and they are why the Dems can never fix their party. There are no true centrist Dems anymore, because the crazy Dems banished them from the party for having blasphemous views. Dems do not… Read more »

So Rahm and Fareed are far right extremists as well as transphobic? What’s this world coming to? I thought “Love Trumps Hate” was the answer. lol

In all seriousness this is a great thing. We need Democrats to speak out about these horribly run cities to get any change. Those city voters can be swayed to vote for a different kind of Democrat but not someone with an R by their name.

The way I understand it, Rahm wasn’t very liked as Ambassador to Japan. You didn’t see anything about his time there, which leads me to believe that what I read was true of his pushing for Japan to be more LGBTQ and that that caused tension, and it didn’t sit well with the elders.

Did anyone see Pritzker on the “View” on Friday? I don’t watch that show but it was mentioned on some news show yesterday so I watched his segment online. He was on for over 20 minutes.

Let’s see, I could watch Pritzker on The View for 20 minutes or I could beat my head against a wall for 20 minutes…. hard to say which would be more painful…

Wow. The Rahmfather speaks volumes of truth here.

Wait…didn’t the Chi-town shenanigans escalate under his rule? Not as bad as under Lightweight, but…

Did you catch Rahm’s comment at the 5:38 mark? He just had to boast “as someone who has produced the best graduation growth in the country” and then everyone claps. Most people hear a stat like that and think it’s a good thing but no critical thinking is done to even ask if the standards were lower. The audience is so easily and quickly fooled.

You still have more work to do Mark.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
