Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Another divide and conquer article published by the Chicago media. Perhaps it was written to garner approval from Pritzker who hinted the other day at throwing funds towards journalists, that we can assume, write in the Pritzker approved style. Well in this case the author did fit the Pritzker style. Sow discord and Pritzker can, with a fistful of taxpayer dollars, offer pandering to the offended in true Democrat party style.
