Raoul, 17 other AGs ask Congress for power to investigate police misconduct – Capitol News

After Rodney King was beaten by Los Angeles police officers in 1991, federal lawmakers established the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act, allowing the Department of Justice to investigate alleged police wrongdoings. Kwame Raoul and 17 other attorneys general who signed on to the letter requested that authority as well due to the federal government’s “refusal to confront the problem of police misconduct.”

Forget the thieving politicians of which there have been over a 1000 in Illinois over the last 20 yrs charged with corruption, let’s go after the cops.
