I’d estimate over two-thirds of the city accepts the existence of systemic racism just as much as Catholics believe that Jesus rose from the dead on the 3rd day. Recently I’ve spoken with minorities and non-minorities about systemic racism, and there is a near universal belief that all cops are racist (all of them), policing keeps minorities down, banks are racist and won’t lend to BIPOC, good jobs are given to white people “aka complexion connection”, and that racism is everywhere, always present and forever baked into the system.
