Rental owners say they ‘are being crushed’ by eviction ban extension – Center Square

Said Loretta Facchini, a retiree who owns one rental property in suburban Vernon Hills. “People’s entire retirements are either going or are gone. Our tenants are both working. We can’t evict them and we are losing money. We had to go into our savings to pay for the property taxes and mortgage. We are out about $30,000 since January 2020.”

JB has done nothing to help these landlords. He keeps extending the eviction ban as if one size fits all. If these landlords lose everything and decide to take shelter in a Hyatt hotel, do you think JB will let them stay. After all, it is the right thing to do, right JB?

Landlords will find Section 8 renters more attractive than other renters in view of this because Section 8 pays its amounts due. Won’t it be fun to hear some of the loyal Democrats scream to high heaven when Section 8 families move into their neighborhoods? Sounds like a great plan to empty the Chicago housing projects into the liberal voting suburbs. Have plenty of popcorn stockpiled because this one is going to be fun to watch.

“Most suburbs are republicans FYI.”

They are? Why did all those republicans in Dupage, Kane, Lake, and Will vote for Pritzker in 2018? Must have been all those section 8 apartment dwellers that already live in the suburbs. Yippie ki yay Hans.

landlords will never see another penny in rent. The eviction ban has nothing to do with COVID, the ban is all about the Dictator stealing your money/property and using it to buy votes. The Democrats have tasted the fascism they’ve always wanted to impose. They like it and they’re never going back

Spot on.
It will destroy the rental market for all the people who really need to rent.
Lands will be getting out of the business faster than people are moving out of Illinois.
Extend you middle figure next time you cross the border into Indiana.

The eviction ban is to give more freebies to the permanent victim class to insure Democratic votes.

Her fault for not working for the Government and getting a Huge Pension with 3% increases every year. Providing housing for workers is at your own risk.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
