Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. If JB has been “tossed up” we need to be careful where he comes down!
Sad that Bailey’s campaign hasn’t received more help from the “establishment” Republicans, who took their ball and went home to sulk after their RINO candidate washed out with primary voters.
Pritzker’s a target-rich candidate. Got more big red bullseyes on his broad rear end than a happy hour sports-bar during a dart tournament.
With more financial support, and wiser campaign advice, Bailey could have pulled this one out.
“Sad that Bailey’s campaign hasn’t received more help from the “establishment” Republicans” He is not a winning candidate so it would be a waste of money. Even the GOP doesn’t believe that Bailey can win. What about Ken Griffin? He gave millions in the primary. I don’t believe Bailey received anything from KG and Ken hates JB. If you can’t show potential donors a path to victory then not too many will open their wallet. Maybe wiser campaign advice would have made him a better candidate which in turn would have produced more money. It’s sad when GOP voters picks… Read more »
Democrat operative at play here…”Don’t bother voting for the terrible candidate, no one supports him, just submit to JB’s will, accept your punishment, you children will be sacrificed on the alter of Pfizer and Moderna..”
I never said not to vote for Bailey. Please vote for Bailey. He is still going to lose. He will get crushed. It’s time people start seeing things as they are instead of how they hope them to be.
Pensions will be paid.
Taxes will increase.
JB will win in 2022.
Debtsor will cry about voter fraud.
Osage Research traditionally does internal polling for GOP candidates, so take the poll with a grain of salt. On the other hand, I am also skeptical of the polls showing Bailey miles behind JB.
This poll seems to be more in line with the national trends. Independents are breaking hard for the Republican party nationally. There’s no reason why IL would be any different. Bailey needs the R voting independents to show up to the polls and JB’s people need to not show up. Crap Fax has been linking to some tweets showing that Chicago mail-in ballot return rate is really low this year being so close to the election. Turnout is always lower in a mid-term but R’s are really amped up right now and I’s are pretty frustrated too.
Voters, like me, and friends, who normally vote early or mail a ballot are not doing either. We are voting in person as late as possible on Election Day to counter the fraud.
Who would downvote your statement…?
A fraudster maybe…?
Seems like a nerve has been struck, which is good, it means they are nervous about winning…
Maybe someone that doesn’t believe the crazy lies around voter fraud. WK is afraid to vote early because he believes someone will tamper with his ballot. The big lie just shows how absolutely crazy and stupid you are. Complete fools. Enjoy your minority status in Illinois. Losers.
LOL https://www.heritage.org/election-integrity/report/where-theres-smoke-theres-fire-100000-stolen-votes-chicago The “Truth About Voter Fraud,” according to activist groups like the Brennan Center, is that “many of the claims of voter fraud amount to a great deal of smoke without much fire…. The allegations simply do not pan out.”[1] Chicago, however, is known for its fires, and there was a roaring one there in 1982 that resulted in one of the largest voter fraud prosecutions ever conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice. The telltale smoke arose out of one of the closest governor’s races in Illinois history; and as for the fire, the U.S. Attorney in Chicago… Read more »
LOL Where There’s Smoke, There’s Fire: 100,000 Stolen Votes in Chicago https://www.heritage.org/election-integrity/report/where-theres-smoke-theres-fire-100000-stolen-votes-chicago Soon after the investigation started, it became evident that this was not a case of isolated wrongdoing, but rather a case of extensive, substantial, and widespread fraud in precincts and wards throughout Chicago. The FBI investigators concluded that their regular tools-interviewing witnesses, obtaining documents, and using handwriting experts to analyze signatures on documents-would not be up to the task. After all, to conduct a complete investigation, they would have to review “virtually all of the 1,000,000 ballot applications submitted in the City of Chicago in the November election”… Read more »
To Big Lie & PPF if you are reading.
A wise man told me that once you have to revert to name-calling in a discussion you have lost the argument and any moral high ground.
You lost any moral high ground when you asked me to leave this website because I had a differing opinion. Maybe go over to twitter and see if they can ban more people. That’s more your speed.
Don’t behave like a fragile snowflake and I won’t call you one.
PPF, your differing opinion is starting to cross over into “paid Democrat operative infiltrating conservative chat forums to spread despair and discourage voting”. Discussing your opinions on pensions is one thing, telling people that Bailey is so bad the race is over in arguably the biggest red wave since 1980 (maybe even bigger) is trolling.
Not a paid operative. I don’t want JB to win but he is going to win. It won’t be close. Bailey is an awful candidate. I speak truth not propaganda in some hope that Bailey can win. Do you honestly believe anything that I write on this site would suppress any vote for Bailey? Are people on this site really that weak-minded? I have more faith in them than you I guess. Bailey is down 10-15 points. He is going to get his ass handed to him on November 8th. I’m confident that he will lose the same way I’m… Read more »
That’s Bailey the candidate that’s causing that. He doesn’t attract more voters or more money and the polls show how awful he is performing. That’s the discouraging part.
I know it helps you to play pretend but reality is going to come crashing down on you on November 8th.
Thank you for making my point…
Your nervousness is readily apparent…
Debtsor, the surge by GOP candidates in other states over the past week or two is really something. It’s palpable. Will be interesting to see if it’s indeed happening here, too.
I love that Mark received downvotes for stating a simple fact. JB is not up 22 (his internal poll) and Bailey is not down just 2. Polls for this election that are not sponsored by either party show that JB is up around 15. Factor in that GOP voters tend to be underrepresented in polling by a few points and a more accurate estimate may be around 10-12 point lead.
This race won’t be close and will be called quickly after 7pm on November 8th.
It is closer than 10 to 12 points. As of today, a few weeks before the election, every nation poll show independents are going Republican 2-1. Assuming IL’s independents don’t buck the national trend (and why would they? It’s not like JB is a popular moderate), just back of a napkin scribbling here, the independents should give Bailey another 5 to 6 points above the 10-12 points you think JB has. Factor in low turn out in a mid-term and this race might be pretty close. But see my story above about 1982 where 10% of all ballots cast in… Read more »
