Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. First off, I honor and respect her for her military sacrifice. However, she was flat out given positions of responsibility in Illinois government based on that sacrifice alone. While at the Il Vetrans Dept. she did absolutely nothing, but collect a paycheck. There were scandals and big problems under her “leadership” that were ignored by the MSM. She used her name recognition to cobble together her election as a senator.
