At what point do elected officials in IL realize they are ELECTED and are to represent the best interest of their constituents. Do you think any of our young people are going to stay in this state knowing how they have been treated?
The High Schools really offer a chance to take a look at all options to modernize, downsize and cut cost but nothing will change. Suburban high schools have been offering unique classes live over the internet across districts with evaluations made through secure standard testing on line. Participating schools need only supply a local classroom and a para-professional to proctor the class. My son now 40 took these type classes in the mid 1990’s. This was around the time CPS tried to combine Carver HS with Fenger HS but gang violence halted the effort. The middle class has abandoned CPS!
Cut off everyone from all forms of online classes, like it was prior to March. This will compel everyone to return, everyone, no choice. Then slowly make online be a means to earn extra credit, but it never replaces attendance. As long as the symbol of fear, the mask, is in place, and as long as there exists a means for teachers to stay home, online classes. Then CTU will forever push for permanent semi retirement of stay at home teachers. Remove either the masks or the online classes and their extortion plan falls apart.
It’s past time for Mr. Sharkey to go. The schools exist for the children, not for CTU. If it is indeed unsafe to teach kids in Chicago schools, then we do not need schools or CTU. We could be providing parents with means to seek other alternatives.
End be careful what u ask for as the Vice President of CTU is even WORSE a true believer and I mean a total COMMUNIST
