Illinois considers funding ‘implicit bias’ and ‘antiracism’ training in schools – Just the News

A draft proposal from the Illinois State Board of Education Professional Review Panel set to be considered next month contemplates how to spend an additional $350 million from the evidence based funding model that lawmakers approved several years ago. “The education requirements and recommendations coming out of ISBE have been more and more progressive, more and more pushing a social agenda,” state Rep. Avery Bourne said.

How about a healthy dose of critical introspection. In front of the class explain how you’re going to be a better person. They can’t give it a rest because they’ve got nothing else. Hmmmm….I see a pattern. People who wreck everything and the Democrats think alike. Hmmmm!

Don’t know if this funding would be considered part of CRT (seem all the same to me). But has anyone noticed since dem Virginia woke-up-call loss NPR, NYT, etc keep repeating as gospel– that CRT is not taught in schools and is in fact an issue made up by republicans as a “racist dog whistle” vote-getter. Elitist progressive news media is doubling down– anyone who desn’t vote progressive dem is a racist/ anti-science/ dumb uneducated hick as usual message. Will Illinois parents remain silent?

Due to the teachers contracts there are only so many hours in the day for classtime. Should something like this get imposed and classtime added for it then what other classes will be cut as there are only so many class hours in the day? Reading, Composition or Math?

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
