Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Brando is betting Pritzker will blink first. Will Pritzker let Chicago turn into an absolute sh!t show for the convention? It isn’t enough for Brando to have one of the most liberal progressive socialist governors in the country supporting insane policies. Nope, Brando wants Pritzker to clean up the illegal immigrant mess with state funds while Brando uses all his Chicago money to further the cause, like Fred Hampton statues and reparation programs. I hope these two pieces of human waste destroy each other.
My guess is that Pritzker will blink first, and use state funds to open refugee camps in red counties. There’s zero political fallout to forcing his Republican enemies to bear the brunt of his own sanctuary policies.
