Rich Miller: State needs plans to battle violence to work – Quad City Times

"Chicago and most smaller cities in this state have been gut-punched by violent crime. Police officers and replacement recruits are in short supply here and in areas throughout the country. Violence interruption and prevention needs to show tangible results, not only for the present, but for the future."

Rich Miller of the Capitol Fax blog is a major part of the political problems in Illinois, including the issues that he discusses here. The Capitol Fax is a hangout for both the Democrat and RINO political establishment in Illinois. The target audience of the Capitol Fax is Illinois politicians, bureaucrats, lobbyists, vendors, cronies, and any other sort of political insider. Members of the general public who want to be engaged and informed on the affairs of the state are not welcome there. The regulars at the Capitol Fax view Illinois state government as a private business that only they… Read more »

What’s particularly outrageous is his rigged comment board. If he didn’t block almost all right-of-center comments, he would be overrun by them and he knows it.

Absolutely spot on. Of all groups in Illinois the Capital Fax audience truly needs to hear dissenting opinions but Miller runs the comments like a Pravda gulag. It is truly the archetypal Echo Chamber.

Exactly, the group at the Capitol Fax is basically the same group running Illinois into the ground. The Capitol Fax could be used to provide a rare opportunity for the general public to publicly engage the people running our state in a public discussion, but Rich Miller has prevented that from happening through his heavy handed censorship. This further accentuates the echo chamber that the people running the state live in. This is the same echo chamber that believes that it’s acceptable to financially decimate the state, put feminine hygiene products in fourth grade boys’ restrooms, and hold drag queen… Read more »

Cap Fax is IL state propaganda. That’s not some slur or exaggeration. It is a private blog/publication that exists through the use of state funds (state subscriptions) for the sole purpose of disseminating favorable information about the Democrats in Springfield, and fabricating lies about their perceived enemies, Republicans in Springfield. This is the sole purpose of Cap Fax, so much so, that Rich brags on his blog about his direct line to the Gov’s Chief of Staff and his ability to receive a near instantaneous response back to his inquiry.

I once had a fairly vanilla and non-controversial comment blocked by Rich Miller on the Capitol Fax.

Strangely enough, it was simply a comment stating that I supported separating my alma mater, SIUE, from SIUC on an article concerning that very topic.

I didn’t even diverge from the topic at hand to criticize the many woke policies going on at both SIU campuses that I strongly disagree with and are the main reason I will never make any donations to SIUE.

Because they’re enlightened liberals, they believe every problem can be solved by throwing tons of money at it. Your money. And here comes Mr. Miller, telling us how important it is that these programs show tangible results! He doesn’t tell us where the money is actually going, besides telling us it is “out the door”, which means we’ll never see it again. As for the tangible results part, forget it. You can’t change human nature. Bad people are going to be bad. But you can’t really speak the truth in the woke times we live in. So buckle up and… Read more »

The entire article boils down to: how fast can we spend money? Is it possible that anybody still believes this nonsense?

This clown again? Mike Madigan’s mouthpiece and loyal lapdog? When are the Fed’s coming for Miller?

Chicago Teachers Union contract demands are totally divorced from reality – Wirepoints

Details emerging about Chicago Teachers Union’s upcoming contract show just how divorced its demands, both extreme and expensive, are from the reality at Chicago schools. It’s not just about massive salary increases, but also about money for migrant students, climate initiatives, abortions and gender-affirming care. About blocking parental notification. Count on CTU’s demands to veer further from reality until the public finally says no.

Gov. Pritzker’s ‘ethics reform’ eliminates competitive elections and choice for voters – Wirepoints on AM 560 Chicago’s Morning Answer

Ted joined Dan and Amy to talk about a new law passed by the Democratic supermajority and signed by Gov. J.B. Pritzker that results in brazen election interference, keeping Republicans off ballots; about a referendum that tests the waters for a renewed progressive income tax hike; about how the Parental Notification referendum question was knocked off the ballot; and why laws like that pass so easily.

Chicago needs more champions of literacy like Willie Wilson – Wirepoints

It’s rare to see city leaders in Chicago take an open, unabashed stance on the collapse of literacy. To complain is deemed as too political, too racist or too anti-public schools. So it’s refreshing to see Willie Wilson, a successful businessman and leader of the black community, call for a literacy initiative “with the goal of getting 100% of Black students reading at grade level.”
