Rich Miller: The unanswered question – McDonough County Voice

"(T)he governor’s people say that legislative leaders wouldn’t consider the quarantine language change proposal. Members were already being inundated with angry, even threatening contacts from constituents and outsiders who’d been ginned up by disinformation outlets to what we thought at the time was the max over the Right of Conscience Act fix. Tossing more fuel on the fire wasn’t something that enough Democratic legislators wanted to do, even though doing both at once could’ve saved a whole lot of grief down the road."

Rich’s dilemma is that he left himself no room for nuance in the debate. He went all in on mask mandates, then ridiculed anyone questioning the mandates (even at this juncture) as anti-science, then elevated the few anti-vax extreme minority viewpoints in an attempt to label on any and all reasonable dissenters are wacko extremists. While all this plays quite well inside his echo chamber, he has a paper trail of columns to cover up.

You might say he dug his own journalistic grave, but it’s more like quicksand. The more he struggles with the logic, the more he sinks.

Rich’s mainstream readers, many on public payrolls, could care less.

On the plus side, wearing masks in schools now counts as credit towards the Performative Arts.

In the future, when Wirepoint’s links to anything written by Rich Miller, please include a disclaimer or warning label.

A few suggestions include: “Rich Miller, veteran spokesman for the Illinois Democratic Party” or “Please Note: Rich Miller is a communications director for the Illinois Democratic Party, not a journalist” or “Rich Miller, longtime political operative and propagandist for the Illinois Democratic Party.”

Oh Rich, you’re such a sad man. Your analysis is not only wrong, it is full of personal attacks on Devore, attacks on the integrity of the court system, and wow, you don’t understand basic Illinois law. I don’t think this ‘opinion’ piece could be any more juvenile. “School mask mandates are quarantines? Are you nuts? No, you’re just ignorant of the law. The quarantine laws were passed in response to … EBOLA … and used very plain language to describe medical devices to prevent the transmission of a disease ..aka masks….are a modified quarantine… ….Unless, Rich, you’re admitting that… Read more »

They don’t care about logic or reason. Logic and reason are just part of the white supremacist patriarchal power structure. Probably homophobic too.
