Richard Porter: Pritzker’s Not a Nazi Either – RealClear

What induced Pritzker’s rant? The Cleveland Clinic provides a clue: “For people with histrionic personality disorder, their self-esteem depends on the approval of others and doesn’t come from a true feeling of self-worth. They have an overwhelming desire to be noticed and often behave dramatically or inappropriately to get attention. For those of us in Illinois, this comes close to describing our governor’s interesting psyche: He’s the needy billionaire.

Great photo of Pritzker that is so unlike the ones that always show him behind a podium. People need to see Pritzker as he really is

Makes Hochul and Newsom look good. IL is an extreme Leftist nightmare.

Isn’t Illinois Fun?

Not simply a bad governor, a destructive governor. His covid policies did not “follow the science” and harmed many children. His sanctuary state chest thumping resulted in border governors sending people to IL and the billions of dollars he used to virtue signal on the back of taxpayers, including disadvantaged minorities. His exponential increase to the state budget is a permanent burden now and to generations to come.

JB the Hutt is an authoritarian accusing the other side of being the Nazis. His record in Illinois is abysmal, so he needs a big distraction. He appeared on CNN with DNC operative Jake Tapper to repeat his outrageous lies with Tapper nodding his empty head so much you could hear the marble bouncing around in it. The good thing is that no one watches CNN anymore, mostly due to vapid ‘personalities’ like Tapper giving cover to sociopaths like the Hutt. This over-the-top rhetoric must end, or it won’t end well. JB the Hutt needs to apologize and tone it… Read more »

While I agree that Pritzker is grandiose and a bad governor, I don’t agree with people who try to psychoanalyze individuals they’ve never met. We see more than enough of this kind of critique about Trump and Musk. Criticize actions and results, even speeches. Leave the psychoanalysis to Dems who have nothing else to fall back on.

Sorry but I am going to disagree with your position to not psychoanalyze people we have never met. If he was just a bad governor, sure. However, when he uses words like Nazi, he is fair game to psychoanalyze.

I agree that he gives plenty of ammunition for these pronouncements.

I’ve just seen too many people, some even on this comment board, confidently telling us all of their supposed insights into the psyches of Trump and MAGA. They offer nothing else, they are just sure that Trump and MAGA are psychologically defective.

Do you pay any attention to those accusations? I don’t. It just makes me think they have no substantive point to make. There are plenty of substantive points to make about Pritzker. Let’s stick to that.

Only mental health professionals are ethically barred from psychoanalyzing the various psychoses of the leftwing nutjobs that run the state. I have my own theory – likely spot on – about JB, basically summed up that he became an orphan after his mother’s suicide as a teenager while away at boarding school, but that comment was deleted as being over the top, so I will not repeat it.

Of course people are free to speculate. We all do it, it’s fun. I think it is useful to use generalities, like progressives are insane. Not a fan of individual diagnosis. Why go after just one when you can go after the lot, and have a better chance of being right overall?

Couldn’t agree more. Bad Governor, craves attention and power. What he says is ridiculous. He uses the word Nazi like it means nothing, simply to get attention. I hope the people of Illinois wake up and we can get rid of this buffoon.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
